The 26th China International Industry Fair (CIIF) was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from October 12 to 16, 2026. Centered on the theme “Smart Economy, Boundless Intelligent Manufacturing”, the fair occupied an exhibition area of 310,000 square meters, gathering more than 3,200 enterprises. Nearly 300 exhibits made their global debuts at the event, offering abundant examples for observing innovative supply in the manufacturing sector.
Exhibition Overview
The Industrial Automation Show of the 26th CIIF focuses on the automation upgrading of the manufacturing industry. With an exhibition area of approximately 70,000 square meters, it gathers around 700 domestic and foreign enterprises. Covering multiple sectors including smart manufacturing solutions, motion control, intelligent sensing, and instruments & meters, the show presents innovative automation technologies and their practical applications.Manufacturing automation has entered a new phase: rather than merely boosting the productivity of standalone machines, the industry leverages digital technologies to build precise, flexible and collaborative smart production lines. Corporate demands have evolved toward the interconnection of production lines, equipment, data and management systems. Spanning core components to integrated smart solutions, this exhibition demonstrates the trend of technological iteration and facilitates high-quality development of the manufacturing industry.

This exhibition showcases various types of industrial control platforms. Bosch Rexroth presents the ctrlX AUTOMATION automation system platform, which covers functions including control, drive, I/O, motion control, and PLC as well as IoT, and expands automation applications via an open ecosystem.Phoenix Contact’s automation solution built upon 4T integration centers on PLCnext. With a multi-layer architecture integration, it achieves hardware and software decoupling. The solution includes PLC, IO, industrial networks, functional safety and electronic interface products. It integrates 5G, TSN, SPE/APL, edge computing and industrial AI, balancing real-time control, cloud data upload and information security to realize 4T integration and empower the All-Electric Society.

Beyond the integrated control platforms, innovative products including Omron DX1 data flow controller and Baumer EB360 bearingless encoder also made their appearances at the show, further enriching the exhibits in the fields of industrial control and key components.

The integration of industrial AI and on-site automation also stood out as a key highlight among exhibitors. Mitsubishi Electric adopted the theme “AI Shares the Future”. Focusing on the core concept of “AI Rooted at Industrial Sites”, it presented solutions tailored to industry demands in the Chinese market. The exhibits cover intelligent decision-making powered by industrial AI, full-domain data collaboration and on-site automation, demonstrating the trend of deeper integration between artificial intelligence and automation technologies.

Within the smart manufacturing system, automation serves as the foundation connecting equipment and intelligent systems. The deep integration of automation technologies and digitalization empowers production efficiency improvement and enables refined management. In the future, industrial automation will extend from isolated production links to the full-process smart manufacturing system covering R&D, production, management and services.
